Catch of the day (July 14, 2004): Our friend Sandy Stropes reeled in this 27-inch walleye, estimated at about 7 pounds, this afternoon while fishing north of Berry Island on Burntside. But first she thought her shiner lure was caught on a rock, and she nearly cut her line. Instead it was caught on her sister Lois' line and wrapped around the motor prop. Once everything was untangled her husband Bill called out, "Get the net," and in came this nice walleye. Sandy was lucky and caught another walleye near this spot a few days earlier. Her secret bait? A chunk of past-prime colby cheese from Zup's.
It's time to come to Camp and rent a boat and motor for the day ($50 plus gas) or our new pontoon, which seats 12 ($45 an hour or $145 a day), to get out on the lake. Canoes and kayaks are also available. P.S.: We don't allow dogs on the pontoon.
