May 2004. The ice went off Burntside just in time for Work Weekend, but Dave found a raggedy piece of ice to crown Miranda with for the group photo on the point. The intrepid campers enjoyed mild weather while they roofed Cabin 27, raked paths, built new windows for cabins 5 and 12, applied new drawer paper in cabins, split wood, cooked, did dishes, ran errands, swept cabin roofs, and put up twig curtain holders in several cabins.

Thanks to the work weekend crew for spring 2004: (back row) Bob, Linda, Steve, and Jim; (middle row) John, Carol, Trudi, Linda, Dan, and George; (front row) Dave, Miranda, Bobbi, and Lis.

Take a look at an interview with Nancy from the newsletter of the Listening Point Foundation. And check out the 2003 Sechhi data, which show Burntside Lake as the clearest since this set of records started.

Brand new: See our Fishing at Camp Van Vac page! And watch as we add good new information to it as the summer proceeds.
